Time to Mourn

A time to mourn? Celebrations cancelled, vacations cut short, illness, financial rockiness, loss of freedom to do, rejection... It's time to hold ourselves with loving arms, and honor the truth of what we've lost. It's ok to not be ok.

My relationship with grief has been rocky. Without invitation she followed me, casting a shadow on everything... until I sat with her. Hand in hand she showed me why my heart was aching, and with every breath I softened into the comfort of her arms.

The tears cleansed my being while she opened my eyes to my contentment with what truly is. Each journey I take with her, often times pen to paper, brings me to a richer experience of joy.

One breath at a time... Mourning the loss of what I thought I would experience, grief became the unsung hero to joy. Joy.. A deep feeling of contentment with what is.
